Combining Atoms: Alloys

An alloy is a solid solution consisting of atoms of two or more metals. Brass is an example of an alloy and it is a silvery alloy of zinc and copper. Most brass materials have a golden color and are harder than copper metal. Some alloys have a constant definite ratio of metallic atoms. There is a special group of alloys that displays superconductivity which is the ability of a material to conduct an electrical current with zero electrical resistance.
